Preservation in a Changing Climate 2026

The City of Salem and the Preservation in a Changing Climate Committee are excited to announce the sixth annual conference focusing on addressing climate impacts to the region’s historic resources. The one-day conference will be held in person on Wednesday, September 23rd at the Peabody Essex Museum Morse Auditorium.

The conference will include a full day of case studies, conversations, and panel presentations, beginning with a keynote by Lori Ferriss, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Built Buildings Lab and an internationally recognized expert on leveraging existing and historic buildings for equitable climate change mitigation and adaptation. Lunch will be provided by PEM with a closing reception at the National Park Service Salem Armory Visitor Center.
